By using decoder.tools you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the site. We may update these terms from time to time; the version published here, with the date shown above, is the one that applies.

decoder.tools provides free, browser-based tools that decode, parse and explain data formats. All processing happens on your device — we do not receive, store or process the content you paste in. See the privacy policy for the detail.

The site is offered without any account or contract. We may add, change, or remove tools, and may change or discontinue the site at any time without notice.

You agree not to use decoder.tools to:

• Break any applicable law, or infringe anyone else's rights.
• Process data you have no right to access — decoding something does not give you authorisation to have it.
• Attack the site or its infrastructure, including attempts to disrupt, overload or gain unauthorised access.
• Scrape or automate the site at a volume that degrades it for other people.
• Present the site, or any tool on it, as your own product or service.

Several tools here are dual-use — steganography extraction, cipher breaking, token inspection, protocol analysis. They exist for legitimate development, research, forensics, education and authorised security testing. Using them against systems or data you are not authorised to handle is your responsibility and, in most jurisdictions, illegal.

We work hard to make the decoders correct and the explainers accurate, and we fix mistakes when they are reported. Even so, the output of any tool on this site is provided for information only. Verify anything that matters against an authoritative source before relying on it.

Nothing on decoder.tools is legal, financial, security or professional advice. A valid checksum does not mean an account, card, vehicle or device is legitimate; a decoded token is not a statement about whether it is safe to use; a parsed certificate is not a verification of its trust chain.

The site is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any defect will be corrected.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, decoder.tools and anyone involved in producing it will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or exemplary damages, or for any loss of data, profits, revenue or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of the site — whether or not we were advised of the possibility of such damages.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.

The decoder.tools name, design, written explainers and tool implementations belong to their respective owners and are protected by copyright. You may use the tools and read the content freely for personal and commercial purposes, and quote or link to pages with attribution. You may not republish the written content wholesale, or copy the site and present it as your own.

Standards, specifications and protocol names referenced across the site belong to their respective owners and are used descriptively.

Some pages link to external specifications, tools and documentation. Those sites are not under our control, and we are not responsible for their content, availability or privacy practices.

We may revise these terms at any time. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the revised terms. Material changes will be reflected in the date at the top of this page.
